School Bus

Bus Procedures |
Kindergarden & 1st Grade:

  • Kindergarten or 1st Grade students that will be riding the bus, please be sure to communicate this with your student's teacher
  • We will make stickers for your student so the bus driver can verify the name and bus stop of the student
  • Kinder teachers will be handing out a critical back to school pink sheet at Kindergarten Orientation for parents to return prior to Monday, September 13th
  • Kindergarten and 1st Grade students MUST have a receiving adult waiting at the bus stop in order to be released from the bus. If your K/1st student does not need a receiving adult, please contact the office to complete the opt-out form.

The South Colby Office must be aware that you are picking up your child vs. taking school bus transportation. Please contact the Office if possible before 3:15 to notify of any transportation changes (360.443.3000).
Parent Transportation 

School Arrival |
  • If you are dropping off your student for school, you will line up in Lane 1 or Lane 2 (see parking map below). Lane 3 will be Breakfast drop off only
  • Students will exit their vehicle when invited to do so by a staff member starting at 8:50AM
  • Do not drop-off your student in the gravel area off the South Street
  • Adults should not exit their vehicle during arrival
  • If you have paperwork to drop off or other in-person needs, please wait until arrival is complete to come into the office.
Dismissal |
  • Students will line-up and wait to be called to your car by a staff member
  • Pick-up will begin in Lanes 1 and Lane 2. After buses leave, we will also open Lane 3
  • You will receive a placard for your front window. Please display this during pick-up
  • Students will be released and walked to your vehicle by a staff member​
