Greetings from Principal Munson
Hello, South Colby Families!

It is with great excitement I introduce myself as your new principal. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school that has such a strong sense of family, as well as a keen focus on academics and character.  I feel very fortunate to be joining this community.

I have been dedicated to education for over 15 years, and have worked with students ranging from Pre-K through High school in a variety of different roles, from classroom teaching to coaching and mentoring teachers. I look forward to continuing to serve students and our community through my passion for equity, social/emotional learning, and academic success for all students.

A little bit about me personally:  I am a Washingtonian, born and raised. I love misty days and clouds, the mountains and the water.  I also know how to appreciate the sun when it finally appears! While originally from Olympia, we have lived here in the South Kitsap community since my husband was hired at the Shipyard in 2003.  We have two boys – they will be in 2nd grade and 4th grade this fall, and I’m sure some of you have seen us around the little league or soccer fields. We love living in this area, and I am a strong supporter of SK schools.

Understandably, everyone is wondering what this fall will bring, and is likely worried about the unknowns. What I can assure you of is this: I am committed to the success of our students, and to leading the amazing South Colby staff forward as they continue the vital work of supporting and teaching our students during these uncertain times.  We will be here for you, in whatever capacity we can be.

I will update this page again this fall, when we have a better picture of what the school year will bring.  In the meantime, I look forward to meeting you this fall, and partnering with you. I value your thoughts, insights, and encouragement throughout the year as we navigate this time together.

Warmly,
Anna Munson
Principal
